This paper presents a number of special applications programs developed by Clemson University civil engineering graduate students. The programs are currently being used in both undergraduate and graduate construction and construction materials courses at Clemson University. A discussion of the reason for using student-developed programs is presented along with discussion of the benefits derived from the use of the programs. The programs discussed include programs for aggregate blending by both graphical and numerical methods, concrete mix design, network scheduling and resource leveling, and allocation and optimization of equipment resources.
