The invention discloses a vehicle control method and a vehicle control device capable of considering both feedback braking and power consuming braking. The method comprises the following steps: if braking power of a motor is lower than the maximal charging power of an energy storage system, controlling the driving motor and an inverter thereof to work at a highest efficiency point; if the braking power of the motor is higher than the maximal charging power, reducing the work efficiency of the driving motor and the inverter thereof to convert part of the braking power into power consumption of the driving motor and the inverter thereof so as to improve a braking power value which is input by the inverter of the driving motor under the condition of ensuring that feedback braking power which is output by the driving motor and the inverter thereof is not higher than a preset threshold value. According to the method, the braking feedback power efficiency of the driving motor can be optimized to realize high-efficiency recover of energy when an electric quantity of a power battery is not full on the premise of meeting the requirement on a braking torque of a vehicle when the vehicle travels downhill or brakes, so that the economical efficiency, the safety and the reliability of the vehicle are improved, and the wear of a mechanical braking system is reduced.
