Advanced Persistent Distributed Denial of Service Attack Model on Scale-Free Networks

Advanced persistent distributed denial of service attack (APDDoS), a common means for network attack, is a huge threat to network security. Based on the degree-based mean-field approach (DBMF), this paper first proposes a novel APDDoS attack model on scale-free networks to better understand the mechanism of it on scale-free networks. And then, this paper also discusses some mathematical properties of this model, including its threshold, equilibriums, their stabilities and systemic persistence. Finally, some effective suggestions are given to suppress or reduce the loss of APDDoS attack according to numerical simulation.
