The structure of slant conical shell with manhole in fixed tube-sheet reboiler was simplified for stress analysis with finite element method.It is found that the maximum stress occurs at the connecting zone of manhole nozzle to the slant conical shell,and locates at the inner surface of nozzle at the connecting point with the upper part of the shell at the cross section of meridian with maximum slant angle.Stress analysis and evaluation of several groups of manholes reveals that more thicknesses of the manhole nozzle and the slant conical shell are needed for the strength of this kind of structure.So,it is feasible but in need of stress analysis for assurance.
