Transmission Coefficient Study of Vertical Pile-restrained Breakwater and Fixed Pontoon Breakwater

As the design basis, potential flow theory is used to calculate the effect of regular wave on pontoon-type breakwater within time domain by using the integral equation within time domain. Boundary element is adopted to calculate the equations for the motion of pontoon-type breakwater in three directions by using the fourth order Runger-Kutta method. First of all, the hydrodynamic characteristics of single pontoon breakwater with anchor chain are calculated, which is close to the value of physical model test result. Afterwards, the above mathematic model is used to calculate the wave-damping performance of vertical pile-restrained breakwater and fixed pontoon breakwater under the condition of different drafts.
