Modern kinds of electric energy storages and their application in independent and centralized power systems

Different types of large electric energy storage systems and fields of their application in power engineering are considered. Special attention is paid to new electrochemical electric energy storages for independent and centralized power systems. The operating principles of different types of storages are briefly described. Design versions of electric energy storages for different applications are proposed.
