Numerically Stable Simulation of Developable Meshes

Dynamic developable mesh is a new dynamic model which utilizes Hamilton principle. The authors present the full implementation details of this promising dynamic framework with a stable numerical engine. Experimental results are presented, showing that (1)both smooth and buckled developable surfaces can be modeled by the framework in a consistent way;(2)challenging problems such as crumpled paper simulation and plastic cloth modeling are solved in an efficient and distinct way with desired speed and stability.
