Signal conditioning to improve high resolution processing for PFM telemetry

High resolution processing of pulse frequency modulation telemetry can be improved with the use of a preconditioning filter bank. Analysis of the considerations which go into the design of this filter bank, including the transient response, frequency e r ro r , and signal-to-noise improvement for different filter characteristics a r e described. A block diagram of the filter bank is given, and the degree to which it has improved the data processing of pulsed frequency modulated data a r e discussed.
