Finite Element Analysis and Temperature Field Measurement of 4100QBZ Turbocharged Diesel Engine Piston

To solve the high thermal load of 4100QBZ turbocharged diesel engine, the 19 characteristic dots' surface temperature of turbocharged diesel engine piston was measured under four engine operation conditions by rigidity-plug temperature measurement method.Combining with finite element analysis method, piston 3-D temperature field and thermal stress or distortion under the rated power operation conditions was analyzed. The study indicate that the working temperature of piston surface of diesel engine increases with the increase of engine speed and it reaches 368 ℃ under the rated power condition. The highest thermal Vos Mises stress is 69.3 MPa and takes place on the surface of pin-seat above pinhole, and the largest distortion is 0.474 mm and takes place at the piston head near exhaust port.
