A new cutometer-like device for invivo measurements of human vaginal wall biomechanical properties.

Hypothesis / aims of study Human vaginal wall biomechanical properties have been tested ex vivo in frozen/thawed tissue samples (1), and more recently in fresh anterior vaginal wall samples (2). In vivo testing of human tissues with a cutometer-like device originated with the study of wound healing in plastic surgery. Application to the human vaginal wall is under investigation with inconclusive reports so far. We report on the validation steps for a new prototype designed for office testing.
