Applications of Bayesian software: two examples

The routine use of Bayesian methods in scientific research has been hindered by the absence of appropriate, efficient software for the calculation and graphical presentation of posterior distributions for different combinations of likelihood and prior. In this paper we give two examples of the use of a method based on Gauss-Hermite product rules proposed by Naylor & Smith (1982). The analyses were carried out on an IBM PC AT02 using a program which can treat up to six parameters.
