Inertial System Market Potential

In recent years the DoD has placed increased demands on the inertial industry to provide more reliable, higher performance, smaller and less expensive inertial components and systems. The inertial industry of the free world responded to this challenge along two basic paths, low risk, innovative spinning wheel gyro development and the more high risk solid state approach to sensor development. The active and passive ring laser gyroscopes are typical of this latter category.
