Bandwidth Allocation for Handover calls in Mobile Wireless Cellular Networks – Genetic Algorithm Approach

The proposal of this paper is the channel allocation in mobile wireless cellular networks using genetic algorithm. Time slots are allocated for handover calls based upon their fitness score. Our simulations have shown that higher fitness score call gets preference against lower fitness score ones. Lower fitness calls will get minimum bandwidth in worst case. This solution enables the maximum utilisation of cell bandwidth by which the wastage of bandwidth is avoided.
