Mixed high level and circuital simulation of current-driven loudspeaker systems

This paper deals with the high level description and simulation of a power amplifier driving in current-mode a loudspeaker described by a nonlinear macromodel. Simulation results show that the linearity of the overall system including power drive and loudspeaker is increased, by the use of a current amplifier, instead of the most common voltage amplifier. So doing, magnetic field variations with displacement and temperature-dependent impedance can be better characterized and compensated.
