Broadband EMI absorbing materials

The underlying electromagnetic concepts of EMI (electromagnetic interference) and the materials and configurations used to reduce it are discussed. Wave-material interactions inherent in the control of EMI and the requirements for broadband or bandpass shielding materials are detailed. Absorber design depends on the frequency range, the quantity of shielding required, and the physical characteristics of the devices being shielded. EMI absorbing materials may be dielectric or magnetic, uniform or nonuniform, chiral or nonchiral, and natural or synthetic.<<ETX>>
