With a single-axis fiber-optic gyroscope(FOG)as main inertia measuring instrument,a new fast dynamic north-seeking scheme based on single-cycle least square estimation method is presented.In the scheme,the output signal of FOG is firstly modulated as a fix-frequency sine wave by means of continuous revolution.And then gyro random drift and high-frequency disturb is effectively inhibited by right digital filtering.In the end,the influence of low-frequency disturb is reduced to the maximum limit and the north-seeking accuracy is improved by means of the single-cycle least square estimation method.Test result shows the new scheme is a simple fast steady dynamic north-seeking method.Using the scheme and precision of 0.8 °/h.FOG can get 10 angular minute north-seeking precision in 12′.
