On computer simulation of integrated switched capacitor circuits

Many computer simulation packages are available which analyse the gain and phase/frequency responses of switched capacitor (SC) networks. These programs accept as components, high level models such as operational amplifiers. The authors describe attempts to use the simulator SPICE for such simulations where the system is defined at the lowest level in terms of the models of its devices. The advantages of such a complete system simulation at the device level are considerable. It allows verification of a system design based on proved device models and with a high level of confidence. As well as filter gain and phase information, further important performance data, such as distortion and DC offset voltage are available if required. >
