Infrared Vibration Spectra of Semiconducting V6O13

The infrared reflection spectrum (400 to 1250 cm−1) of V6O13 single crystals is recorded with polarisation ∥ and ⟂ to the monoclinic b-axis. Below the transition temperature Tt ≈ 150K, a number of resonances due to lattice vibrations appear. The spectra are analysed by Kramers-Kronig and classical-oscillator calculations. Several resonances are assigned to stretching vibrations of particular VO bonds.
