Scale-free object detection using three-dimensional fourier transform

Originally a 3D Fourier transform is used for utilizing the 3D nature of objects. Using this 3D optical Fourier transform, one can do spatial filtering and a correlation on the entire 3D input distribution. For example, with a 3D Fourier transform a conventional 2D joint transform correlator (JTC) can be extended to 3D.
