Analysis and implementation of instantaneous current control for multiple boost converter in WECS

A detailed analysis of a multiple boost converter used in the MW-level Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) under the proposed instantaneous current control is presented. System topology is given to demonstrate the function of multiple structures and control strategy. To obtain a continuous mathematical model of the boost converter, Fourier series are used to analyze the switching function. Then a steady-state analysis for low-frequency, a high-frequency component analysis, and a closed-loop tracking performance analysis for dynamic response are provided to analyze the method proposed. The results show that the method can effectively restrain the low- frequency harmonics and has a fast dynamic response. The theoretical results are verified experimentally.
