ETM 모델을 통한 엔진 각부 온도와 에너지 흐름 파악에 관한 연구

ETM which is short for Engine Thermal Management is a research field dealing with the energy flow from the combustion. The model of the paper consists of mainly 6 sub models: thermal mass model, coolant model, lubricant model, heat transfer model, friction model and exhaust model. The sub models are coupled each other and they exchange heat and signals. We can estimate the engine temperatures by the thermal mass model. Coolant model and lubricant model calculate the heat energy which is transferred from the engine parts to working fluids. Heat transfer model estimates how much energy transfers into the engine parts such as head, liner and piston. The friction model calculates the heat generation from the various mechanical friction sources such as PRA(Piston Ring Assembly), bearings and valve train. Lastly, the exhaust gas enthalpy flow is considered by the exhaust model. A systematic analysis for engine thermal management will be possible by the abovementioned model.
