A recursive formula for convolutions/correlations and its application in pattern recognition

Abstract A recursive formula expressing N -dimensional convolutions/correlations via ( N −1)-dimensional ones is proposed. Its applications in pattern recognition (especially in optical pattern recognition) are discussed.
