Computer-Aided Three-Point Bending of Multsiple-Bend Profiles

A computer-aided technique is used to determine the optimum bending sequence for the forming of multiple bend profiles, taking account of the relative importance of handling and accuracy. Transfer of the bending sequence data to the press brake and to the integrated handling device is performed automatically. The variables arising from the material and geometry parameters of the sheet and the related angle deflections are eliminated by adaptive control of the press brake. The elastic-plastic bending process is simulated for the calculation of the correction factors.
