Movable and Deployable ICT Resource Unit for instant delivery of local ICT services

This paper reviews the resilient network architecture based on Movable and Deployable ICT Resource Unit or MDRU. The core of the MDRU architecture is to use a movable container, unit or car to accommodate the equipment necessary for providing both telecommunication and data center services. The architecture enables us to deliver local ICT services quickly, easily and with the minimum workforce. MDRU is therefore useful in critical situations where large demand/supply gaps exist like large scale disasters. The development of prototype MDRUs and the results of a feasibility study are reported.
