Research on Face Recognition Method Using Gabor Wavelet and Locality Preserving Projections

A face recognition algorithm is proposed by integrating Gabor transform and LPP.It takes advantage of good spatial locality and orientation selectivity of Gabor filters,so as to get the characterization of global image information,and then the dimensions are reduced by utilizing the LPP,which well preserves the image of local information.Experimental results on ORL and YALE database indicate that this method can extract features relating to expression and attitude and so on effectively.Besides,it can shield influence from illumination changes and personal differences effectively,the best recognition rate can achieve 99.11%.
