Slidestack: A Co-editable Web Presentation Platform for Facilitating Knowledge Sharing

Presentations are crucial components of the knowledge sharing in organizations with the purpose of facilitating organizational acquisition and invention. Current web applications enabling users to collaboratively create presentation-like web contents and locate the created contents on a web page for knowledge sharing are insufficiently supportive of types of materials for presentations and the functions for visitors. We addressed challenges such as collaborative creation of web contents based on existing presentations and sharing created web contents seamlessly with useful functions and communication tools. To solve the problems, we proposed Slide Stack as a web platform for organizing and sharing of knowledge using presentations. The result of an experiment for evaluating a performance of real-time collaboration features showed that the especial features of the Slide Stack system for improving the presentation-like web contents ran without problems in practical use.
