A Study on the Interference Avoidance Using Control Information in LTE Femtocell Systems

Macrocell Base stations, called Enhanced NodeB (eNB) are used to service outdoor users. These solutions are insufficient for providing good signal strength to indoor users. Long Term Evolution (LTE) has developed Femtocell (HeNB) for indoor coverage extension. However, co-channel interference problems between the HeNB and the eNB should be solved in advance. This paper proposes a new scheme that uses the control information to avoid the cochannel interference due to the structure of the HeNB within eNB. Simulation results show that, in terms of outage and system throughput, the new proposed scheme outperforms the others without using the control information scheme.
