Hierarchical Motion Estimating Method and Ultrasound Image Display Device Using the Same

A method for estimating a hierarchical motion and an ultrasound image device using the same are provided to shorten a processing time and to maintain accuracy in a small block having a characteristic region by dividing a motion estimation region into various sections and arranging a block from a characteristic point within each section. A method for estimating a hierarchical motion includes the steps of: dividing first and second input images into images having at least one hierarchical multi-level resolution(S110); dividing a predetermined image, which has a predetermined level resolution of the image divided from the second input image, into at least one motion estimation region, and extracting a characteristic point(S120); selecting a characteristic point of the extracted characteristic point within the motion estimation region, and arranging a block of a predetermined size from the characteristic point(S130); and estimating a local motion of the block by matching the image of the arranged block with the first image(S140), and predicting a global motion of the motion estimation region(S150).
