SWING-UP CONTROL OF PENDULUM ON VIBRATION STAND

Abstract In this paper, a cart-pendulum system mounted on a vibration stand is taken into consideration. The vibration stand is supported with two spring boards and is controlled by a mass and a dedicated motor so that the vibration can be reduced or is kept in a certain pattern as required. To swing the pendulum up while suppressed the vibration, an energy-based controller is designed by using the energy-based algorithm. Simulation results with the designed controller are shown.
