Integrated model of teamwork for team effectiveness analysis: an empirical study

This paper utilises an empirically validated team model to evaluate a real organisation's team effectiveness and efficiency issues. It provides recommendations to improve these deficiencies. The integrated model of teamwork (IMT) is used to evaluate performance effectiveness of a Navy Missile Requirements Engineering (NMRE) team in the USA. While the team performs at a satisfactory level, they face obstacles involving structure, member knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs); communication; conflict resolution; coordination and collaboration; member motivation; member training; team cohesion and potency; and team learning. Finally, the IMT model led to recommendation development. An implementation plan was developed for the organisational level. The NMRE team should utilise it to resolve key problems identified in the team.
