Scheduling the Production of Hot Rolling Steel Tube: a Rule-based Heuristics

Seven rules are presented to clarify and supplement some implicit and i ncomplete shop floor experiences for scheduling the production of hot rolling se amless steel tube. A rule-based heuristics approach is then proposed to solve c o mplex scheduling problem in the production process of hot rolling seamless steel tube. The proposed approach differs from those in the open literatures mainly i n that grouping and sequencing are synchronously finished while they are orderly finished through the latter. Finally, an application example is taken to illust rate the heuristics.
