SURVEY ON OPTIMAL REACTIVE POWER DISPATCH OF POWER SYSTEMS

The research development of optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) by academic circles home and abroad is surveyed. Through the analysis on the mathematical models for static and dynamic optimal reactive power dispatch and various optimal algorithms, the five key problems in ORPD, i.e., optimization capability, discrete variable handling, solving efficiency, dynamic dispatch, and cooperative optimization of computation and control, are summarized. Then it is put forward to conduct the calculation and control of global dynamic real-time ORPD by multi-agent technology and its cooperative optimization method. Finally, the problems to be deeply studied, e.g., the control sequence of ORPD and load models, etc., are pointed out.
