Matched correlation sequence analysis in temporal speckle pattern interferometry

A technique for measuring dynamic deformation with temporal speckle pattern interferometry is proposed. The technique is based on the introduction of reference phase sequence and matched correlation to obtain the dynamic displacement of an object without sign ambiguity. The reference speckle sequence, producing the reference phase sequence or phase gauge, is obtained by using a calibrated PZT phase shifter. The matched correlation is done between the reference speckle sequence and the temporal speckle sequence caused by time-dependent deformation of the object. We present a description of its theory and experimental setup to generate the reference and the temporal sequence in the measurement. Experiment with testing of the harmonic vibration of a piezoelectric ceramic plate is shown.
