GC / MS determination of bioactive components of Trigonella foenum grecum

In this study, the bioactive components of Trigonel la foenum grecum seed have been evaluated using GC/MS. The chemical compositions of the hydro alch lic extract of Trigonella foenum grecum seed were investigated using Perkin-Elmer Ch romatography–Mass Spectrometry, while the mass spectra of the compounds found in the extr act was matched with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) library. GC/MS a nalysis of ethanol extract of Trigonella foenum grecum seed revealed the existence of á -D-Glucopyranoside, methyl (74.54.00%) ,3-OMethyl-d-glucose (16.11%)2-Propen-1-amine, N-ethyl (3.43%), Aziridine, 1,2,3-trimethyl-, trans(2.41%),. The results of this study offer a pl tform of using Trigonella foenum graecum seed as herbal alternative for the current synthetic an timicrobial agents.
