A modular and fault-tolerant linear flux-switching permanent magnet machine with thin yoke

In this paper, a new thin yoke modular linear flux-switching permanent magnet (TYMLFSPM) machine with fault-tolerant capability is proposed. The analysis for the proposed TYMLFSPM machine is carried out by the finite-element method. The ratio of mover pole pitch to stator pole pitch is optimized to increase the thrust force and thrust force density.
