3차원 수치해석 실험을 이용한 해양시추시스템에 사용되는 탑드라이브의 구조적 안정성 평가

A top drive is one of some significant mechanical devices on drilling rigs that provides clockwise torque to drill strings in the process of offshore drilling. In this paper, three-dimensional numerical experiments are implemented to investigate behavior of the top drives subjected to gravity loads and thermal loads, and then evaluation on structural stability of them under specific conditions are performed based on the results of some numerical analyses. First, global behavior of the top drives are explained using stress analysis considering various conditions. Also, detailed structural analysis is implemented for gearboxes and swivels, separately, which are specific parts of top drives. Finally, Vibration analysis is taken to predict behavior of the gear boxes regarding to resonance effects.
