A portable 8 channel gait kinematics recording unit

A portable 8 channel joint angle recording unit is presented in this paper. This device allows 5 minutes of continuous recording from non-compensated bridge type transducers. The output from the analog data acquisition board is fed to the digital recording part of the device. The microcomputer samples the input data at 100 Hz, stores it into the 256K RAM memory and via RS-232 connects to a PC computer for further processing and analysis. The unit has a display and a keypad to interface the user.
