Outage-Constrained Device-to-Device Links Reuse Maximization and Its Application in Platooning

Platooning is an efficient and safe driving pattern which is one of the most representative fifth-generation (5G) use cases. The application of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication in platooning brings more benefits such as lower cost, more security, and higher stability. Because of the high-density and complex vehicle environment goes against the platoon application, we propose outage-constrained device-to-device (D2D) links reuse maximization algorithm to improve resources utilization and links reliability. Furthermore, we use the upper bound of the outage probability to make the problem falls under the framework of the Perron-Frobenius Theorem. According to the Perron-Frobenius Theorem, the simulation results of three existing algorithms demonstrate that D2D links still maintain high reliability as the reuse factor achieves maximum.
