A New Method for Detecting Negative SNR UWB Signal

A new detection method based on average segment correlation for negative SNR UWB signal was proposed. The principle of the proposed algorithm gain was discussed in this paper and the derived performance limits of the new detection method were also given. The theory analysis and simulation show that the algorithm can detect the UWB signal whose SNR is -12dB. To get the lower detectable SNR, wavelet transform was used for UWB signal de-noising and the proposed algorithm was utilized for the de-noised signal. Through the process of the negative SNR UWB signal, the detectable SNR can be up to -17dB.
