INCLUSION OF WAVE BREAKING IN A MILD-SLOPE MODEL

The inclusion of wave breaking in an elliptic mild-slope model is taken into consideration in the present paper. The reflections generated from the breaking area are analysed using a 1-D model based on the mild-slope equation. This model has been used to compare the reflections related to the wave breaking formulations of Battjes and Janssen (1978) and of Dally, Dean and Dalrymple (1985). Results of a 2-D mild-slope model compared with experiments are also presented.
