Developing a Sensor Payload Module for the Pioneer Robot: Expanding the capabilities of the Pioneer Robot
暂无分享,去创建一个
The contents of this project will cover the research and development of a Sensor Module that not only returns some original functions to the Pioneer Robot but also adds an array of more complex sensors. The aim of these sensors is to allow the Pioneer Robot and its remote operator to more accurately view and measure the immediate surroundings.
The development of a Human Machine Interface for the Sensor Module is also achieved in order for the remote operator to more easily understand and modify the properties of the Sensor Module. In line with the control philosophy of the Pioneer Robot, a network of microcontrollers will be used in order to co-ordinate the information required to achieve this goal.
The development of a reliable wireless communications interface between the Pioneer Robot is another important aspect of this project. The creation of this wireless link will allow the Robot to be used for demonstrative purposes by staff and students who do not possess an in-depth knowledge of the underlying electronics or microcontroller code.
The completed system will serve future students as a learning apparatus that can be modified to further their microcontroller knowledge and control system experience. The software and hardware that will be used in this project already exists at Murdoch, and will allow future students the opportunity to interact with more complex and intelligent sensors and networks while using familiar programs and programming languages.
