Accelerate service live migration in resource-limited edge computing systems

Service live migration in edge computing systems, which means migrating running services from one edge node to another with negligible cost of time, is becoming one of the cornerstones for various edge management tasks, such as task offloading, fault handling, load balancing and maintaining service continuity against users' mobility. However, due to the limited network bandwidth and computing resources, it is much more challenging to design and implement service live migration within an edge computing system. To overcome this challenge, we present an optimized flow to accelerate migration. Improvements are made from software, system and architecture aspects, which are expected to drastically reduce migration overheads and improve system efficiency.
