Work Load Balancing of a Generalized Flexible Flow Line in Printed Circuit Board Production

This paper describes the production planning problem of a printed circuit board assembly plant. The problem is a generalization of the so-called flexible flow line scheduling problem. The process engineer recognizes it as a dynamic sequence of updates in the production plan. The mathematical modelling of the problem and the use of an interactive production scheduler are discussed. By the scheduler we can analyse schedules created manually or by a heuristic algorithm.
