Application of Water Environment Capacity and Total Pollution Quantity Control to Formulation of Effluent Criteria

In view of the situation that a lot of brine wastewater was discharged to Fu River and seriously polluted the source of drinking water and irrigation water, water environment capacity of chloride for this River was studied and its function in working out emission standard and total emission quantity control was assessed. Results showed that water environment capacity of contaminant is the base of valley total quantity control, while performing valley emission standard can efficiently implement total quantity control and reduce pollution on water environment.
