Performance of Spectrum Sensing Using AF Cooperative Relay for Cognitive Radio System

Abstract In this paper, we proposed spectrum sensing using cooperative relay to solve problem of sensing performance degradation due to CPE (Customer-Primise equipments) which causes low SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) problem. In cooperative communication system, AF (amplify-and-forward) and DF (decoded-and-forward) is widely used for relay mechanism. Also, it is expected that cooperative relay scheme guarantees the high sensing performance by its diversity gain. Based on these backgrounds, in this paper, we apply to cooperative relay scheme to the CR (Cognitive Radio) system, and simulation results show comparison of the sensing performance Key Words : Dual spectrum sensing mode, Cognitive Radio (CR), Cooperative Relay, AF * 정회원, 광운대학교 전파공학과 ** 정회원, 광운대학교 전자융합공학과 접수일자 : 2012년 6월 20일, 수정완료 : 2012년 7월 29일게재확정일자 : 2012년 8월 10일Received: 20 June 2012 / Revised: 29 July 2012 /Accepted: 10 August 2012 ** Corresponding Author: jinyoung@kw.ac.krDept. of Wireless Engineering, Kwangwoon University, Korea
