Effect of Motorial Modes of Gliding Extended Range Projectile on Range Extended Efficiency

Increasing a range of projectile with gliding flight is a quite efficient technique.The flight process of gliding extended range projectile was explained.A ballistic model of gliding control segment was established.The pitching gliding flight and rotating gliding flight of the body were used in the gliding control segment.The influence of two kinds of motorial modes of the body on the extended range efficiency of projectiles was analyzed.The result shows that the extended range efficiency of the pitching gliding flight is higher,but the control system is complicated and the rudder requirement is higher in the course of the rolling control;the extended range efficiency of the rotating gliding flight is lower,but the control system is simple and the rudder requirement is lower in the course of the whole control.
