This paper presents a portable rock 3-D profilometry technology based on phase shift using digital fringe.The technology consists of phase shifting,heterodyne principle and phase-height mapping.Combination of phase shifting and heterodyne principle can make automatic phase unwrapping and keep the precision of phase shifting.Subsequently,according to the unwrapping phase map,the rock 3-D profilometry can automatically accomplished using phase-height mapping.A 3-D measurement system consisting of one camera and a digital fringe projector was developed according to the method.In a case study,a rock sample was measured.The reconstructed 3-D rock sample model is very smooth with details.The results show that the system can accurately measure rock samples.
