Fair bandwidth allocation for multicast available bit rate (ABR) sessions

In this paper, a survey of different methods for fair bandwidth allocation for video multicast over the Internet is presented. A brief analysis of inter-session and intrasession fairness is discussed. Replicated and layered video multicast, are introduced. The destination set grouping (DSG) protocol for replicated and receiver-driven layered multicast (RLM) and layered video multicast with retransmission (LVMR) protocols for layered video multicast are discussed, and different methods of bandwidth allocation are introduced.
