Numerical Simulation of behaviors of air-inflated cushion under wind excitation based on fluid-structure interaction

ABSTRACT: This paper presents the fluid-structure interaction of air-inflated cushion structures subjected to wind excitation. The approach we adopt is using a commercial fluid-structure interaction code ADINA to analysis the behavior between incompressible laminar flow and structure with geometrically nonlinearity. For the air-inflated cushions, it is possible to start from state analysis process to obtain the upper and lower membranes under initial stress and internal pressure. A interface between membrane and outer flow region is defined as a fluid-structure interaction surface so as to transfer the interaction between fluid and structure.
