Signal processing technique for measurement of vented-box loudspeaker system parameters

From a single transient test we determine all of the parameters of a vented-box loudspeaker system. A complete electroacoustical circuit representation is thus obtained from the time-domain test using digital signal processing techniques. First, we apply the pencil-of-functions technique [5] to the digitally recorded response and determine the impedance-function coefficients of the circuit. Next, using the relationships between the impedance coefficients and the circuit parameters, we show that every circuit parameter can be computed without resorting to simultaneous nonlinear equations.
